Webinar: Introduction to The Competencies
What unique knowledge and skills do performance and learning professionals need to master? The I4PL’s Competencies for Performance and Learning Professionals identifies these skills —as well as what’s needed to become a certified professional in the field. This webinar introduces the Competencies. We will explain: What you can do with the Competencies the seven categories of knowledge and skills identified in the Competencies (and how this version differs from the one published in 2010). This will also explain how the Competencies are linked to I4PL certification. The presenters will also answer your questions about the Competencies.

Louise Grummit is a Managing Partner with Benchmark Performance, a performance consulting and instructions design firm based in Toronto. She led the team that developed the Competencies 2010, and the team that added two new competency categories – Partnering with clients and Designing curricula – to the updated Competencies in 2016.  Louise teaches instructional design at the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Saul Carliner is a Fellow, Chair of the Certification Steering Committee, and past board member of the I4PL. He is also a Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Education at Concordia University in Montreal, Research Director for Lakewood Media, and author of several books on instructional design and e-learning, including Training Design Basics and Informal Learning Basics (both ATD Press).
