As if the learning and development world didn’t already have enough acronyms, in 2013 along came the xAPI standard.
Sometimes described as the successor to (acronym alert!) SCORM and sometimes known as Tin Can API, xAPI opens up a huge range of possibilities for tracking and reporting on learning activities in the real world in which they occur, with or without an LMS (another acronym alert!).
But four years after its introduction it remains a mystery for many organizations – and that’s not a good thing.
In this session Chris will walk through the basics of xAPI, giving you an understanding of what it is and how it works. More importantly, he’ll share examples of how organizations are using it to solve real problems.
Come for the acronyms, stay for the inspiration (and bad puns)!
- Key take-Away
- Understand why the xAPI standard was created and how it is different than SCORM
- Understand how xAPI statements are structured, so you can write your own
- Understand how organizations are using xAPI to solve real-world problems
Attendees will leave this session with:
- Resources to help them start using xAPI
- Examples they can use as inspiration for using xAPI
- A whole new set of acronyms
