CANCELLED: Peel Halton: Actionable Conversations
Developing people and building engagement, are critical components in business success. However, the availability of resources such as time and dollars can create challenges when trying to develop your team. Engagement is critical as it links to all major business drivers (e.g. sales, quality, productivity, customer service, absenteeism, safety, etc.). If employees are not engaged by what they do, they will be unmotivated to give both their heart and hands to the job.  A micro learning alternative, that is a unique approach lead by the team leader, builds employee engagement, through conversations.  This method, titled “Actionable Conversations”, will be introduced at the session.


Actionable Conversations
are:
 
1. Inspired by top business books.
2. Short in duration - 1 hour in length.
3. Easy to lead - no external facilitator needed. Support and resources are provided to make it easy to conduct the conversation (conversation outline, book summary, leader notes, and video instruction).
4. Accountable – a built in accountability loop accessed through an online dashboard will track individual behavioural action plans.  This ensures sustainable behaviour change.

 In this session, participants will experience Actionable Conversations and learn how to respond with coaching questions rather than jumping to solutions. This keeps ownership for solving the problems with the person who needs to implement the solution and also triggers the coaching conversations that further develop the team.

Nancy Priest CTDP
With over 25 years of experience in Organizational Development, Nancy is an award winning designer and owner of Glass of Learning Inc. Nancy began her OD career in the head office of Canada’s largest retailer, designing and facilitating learning solutions across Canada; she moved on to work with a Tier 1, global manufacturing organization working with Union and Management to develop trades, engineers, and leaders.  She then joined a global training company where she was an Executive Vice President, working with fortune 500 companies around the world, and assisting global company partners in growing their business.

Nancy has researched, developed and facilitated learning strategies for a wide variety of organizations, including manufacturing, hospitality, financial, retail, travel, and food services. Her broad operational and managerial experience along with strong business acumen, allows her to bring practical and realistic insights to business challenges. She is a specialist in experiential learning, which focuses on learner-centered and context driven content.

CANCELLATIONS: The Institute for Performance and Learning does not issue refunds for cancelled event registrations. Cancellations received in writing up to seven days prior to the event date will be issued a full credit voucher to be applied to another event within the calendar year.
