Calgary: "Ask, Don't Tell" - Facilitation Makeover

Calgary: "Ask, Don't Tell" - Facilitation Makeover
Please join us as Leslie Robinson, experienced presenter and facilitation expert walks us through updating and upgrading a presentation to make it more facilitation-friendly.

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is a powerful organizational development tool that focuses on what is already working well (appreciative) by engaging people in asking questions and telling stories (inquiry). This positive strengths-based, approach to change represents a 180 degree shift away from traditional deficit based, problem oriented, gap analysis approach in many of our organizations stimulating creativity and vibrancy.
We will ‘learn by doing’ which means you will experience it both as a participant and as a facilitator.  It is easy to replicate the four steps of AI in your own practice. This simple and powerful tool works well in personal relationships and families too. There are fantastic online resources, access to communities of practice.   In this session, we will inquire into what is already working well, share stories, dream together and breathe life into future of the Calgary Chapter of the Institute of Performance and Learning.
Oh…and… it’s fun!

Leslie Robinson has facilitated lots of AI’s in international, national, provincial, and local organizations inquiring into topics such as resilience, capacity building, customer service, safety, and international development.  The dreams created in one AI were used by a Member of Parliament to open a bill on gender equity in the Canadian House of Commons the next day! Leslie holds a Masters degree in quantum physics and learning and is a certified Appreciative Inquiry facilitator through the Company of Experts
